Trustee's Office Services

Township Assistance
Indiana law requires that the township trustees provide essential services to the residents of the township. Because of its "grassroots" structure, the Township Trustee system is designed specifically to quickly meet the financial needs of the individual in an emergency.

Fire Protection
Provides fire protection through an interlocal agreement with the City of Westfield to all residents in unincorporated areas of Washington Township.

Cemetery Maintenance
Maintains cemeteries located in the township that have no cemetery association or other resources.  Washington Township maintained cemeteries are Ballard Pleasant View Quaker Cemetery (Est. 1851) on 161st Street and Sugar Grove Cemetery (Est. 1844) on Joliet Road.

Burials
Burial assistance is available from the Township Trustee when no other means of payment are available.

Weed Control
Responsible for destroying detrimental weeds within township.

Fence Disputes
The township assists in negotiations when a dispute arises between two land owners regarding placement and maintenance of line fences.

Parks & Recreation
The Westfield Washington Township Parks & Recreation oversees a variety of recreation activities, programs and event for all ages.
